Case Study: Secure Tablet Solution for UAV Control
KME was tasked with providing a secure-by-design tablet solution to work alongside a drone manufacturer. The primary challenge was integrating smart computing within a secure framework. Our team developed end-to-end secure software and hardware for the unit.
Moving to the mechanical UAV control system design, the goal was to create a lightweight and highly rugged unit with custom functionality. Ergonomics were designed in collaboration with the customer and end user, ensuring that human factors were considered before finalising the design. A working prototype was created using 3D printing, allowing all stakeholders to provide input.
One of our Business Development team members participated in a trial with the end user and customer to gather feedback and make necessary adjustments before final testing. The final product featured several key attributes, including:
